Winter
Wildlife Snowshoe Adventures
Join us for a tour to our Winter Tipi Camp on the banks of the Snake
River. Our journey takes us through a cottonwood forest that is
home to elk, moose, and deer. We follow tracks in the snow and
occasionally catch a glimpse of the animal that is making them.
A
short hike through the forest brings us to the banks of the Snake River
and spectacular views of the Teton Range. It is here that we regularly
see bald eagles and a wide array of waterfowl. The trumpeter swan
is a winter resident of the river bottom and we often hear and see this
magnificent, endangered bird. River otter and coyote tracks are seen
at the river's edge and occasional sightings are a treat.
The destination of our hike is a delightfully warm
Tipi. Hot chocolate, coffee and tea await our arrival. A
hot lunch of homemade soup and grilled sandwiches complete the day.
Moonlight and evening trips feature hors' doeurves, steak or salmon
or vegetarian entree and dessert. The hike out under the light
of the winter sky is what vacation memories are made of.
